Relationships

I was chatting with a new found online chatting kakis who is a CJ's fren.
He just proposed to his gf thru a very unique way over at fort Canning and it was really sweet and touching.
Out of curiosity, i asked him how long have he know her, thinking that it would be a year or 2 at least.
And boy was i shocked to know that the day he proposed was their 99th days into the relationship! (which.. more than half is spent long distanced)
It then sets me wondering..
Some.. took 10years and only got married due to .. 习惯。Too long into the r/s.. everything becomes a habit.
Some.. took 2-3 years.. to path out everything due to.. unstable finances.
While Some.. took less than a year to tied the knot.
Yet... it doesnt mean that the shorter span of time spent in the courting days means... u have a higher chances of failed marriage.
Sometimes.. those that have spent 10 years in the courtship days.. eventually landed themselves in front of the lawyers signing the separation papers.
I have heard, and met quite a few.. and they will tell me.. "we lost the sparks"
Is sparks important? Sparks refers to love i assume.
That.. the strong burning feeling of wanting to be together died off as years goes by.
That.. everything becomes a habit, a routine, and they naturally after being together for so long.. the next step would be marriage - a typical human being would choose.
Afraid of breaking the routine breaking the habit, even after sensing.. that "hey.. am i still in love or am i not?"
Yet, there are some marriage.. that even till today after 30-40 years of marriage life, they are still holding hands, wearing couple tee shirt when they are already in their late 50's. (I saw it with my own eyes.. at tampines mall, boy was i shocked)
Like the show that i watched today, Sex and The City.
Even after 10 years of r/s, with lots of pain and tears in between, Carrie and Mr Big manage to tied the knot and still are very much in love.
So who and when will we know its the right one?
I guess.. its all abt the feel..
Feelings is one of the major component in a relationship.
To feel the love, to feel the pamperness, to feel.. the care and the concern..
and.. be financially.. ready.
and definitely... i'm not.
it feels shitty when finances comes in between a relationship.
it feels disgusting when a couple had disagreement becoz of finances.
that.. money is above the love.
that.. everything is about money money money and more money.
Seen it happen on others.. and felt it....
its not a very happy incident. (I dunno why.. is she becoming like that. When she never had financial arguments all these years. =/)
Love, is simple.. Maintaining it, is the hardest of all.
Like.. the buttoned-down lawyer Miranda Hobbes in Sex and the City.. when she found difficult maintaining the sex in the marriage and the husband eventually did it with another.. and everything broke away.
Now..
